Is it safe to travel to Israel?
Yes, millions of people safely travel to the Holy Land each year. Tourism is a huge part of the economy in Israel and so everyone who lives in Israel loves tourists - Jews, Christians and Arabs alike. Israel has an extremely high level of security in every corner of the country which means that everyone can relax and enjoy their pilgrimage without fear for their safety.
What about the unrest or conflicts I am hearing about on the news?
Turn off the news. There has always been conflicts in Israel throughout the history of the world. It is a highly politicized place as the religions of the world compete for the same ground. There are cities in the US that are much less safe than Israel on any given day.

Israel is 8 hours ahead of the US Central Time Zone.

What is the weather like during the time we are traveling? What should I wear?
January and February are actually very good times to travel to Israel because of the mild weather conditions during that time of year. However, it will likely be cool enough for you to need to bring coats and/or jackets. It doesn’t hurt to bring layers. You can always take layers off. Better safe than sorry. Also, it is likely that we will see some rain so bring a rain coat and keep it on the bus. A little rain will not stop us from traveling to our tour sites. Also, we recommend good comfortable walking shoes because we will do a lot of walking.
Will it be too cool to float in the Dead Sea?
The Dead Sea is literally the lowest place on earth in elevation so it is typically nice enough to take a dip year round. And you will definitely want to get into the mud if possible with all the nutrients only available at the Dead Sea. Bring a swim suit, some water shoes and a beach towel.
Will it be too cold to get baptized in the Jordan River? Do I need a swim suit?
The water will definitely be cold in the Jordan River that time of year. However, the experience will be so incredibly special that the cold will not deter.
Bring a swim suit to change in to. The location has a nice dressing room for you to put your swim suit on. Also, you will be provided with a white robe that you will wear over your swim suit. Towels are provided for this location.
Who do I communicate with regarding questions, etc?
Your direct contact is Pastor Michael Hogan. He can be reached at hogan@f14ranch.org or 417-593-1352. Pastor Hogan will be with you the entire trip and will be in constant communication with you before and during your trip.
I have some difficulty getting around physically. Should I not go?
This is a decision that only you and your doctor should make. Millions of people with varying physical limitations travel to Israel every year and they do great. We will have a luxury bus throughout the trip with a private driver who will take us as close to each location as possible. With that said, there will be long walks to tour each site. Since we will have a private bus, if you feel you need a break, you can stay behind in the bus until the group returns.
